EHF Weekend Warm-Up - September 21, 2019

September 21, 2019

By Matt LaRochelle/

It’s time for another weekend of hockey in the Eastern Hockey Federation.
Here are some things to watch for the weekend of September 20-22, 2019.

U14 Division

  • Minuteman Flames vs Providence Hockey Club (Sept. 21 –Schneider Arena)

Providence (2-0-0, 4 Pts) made their opening statement loud and clear last weekend, winning both games by a combined score of 20-2. They get their first chance to defend home-ice this Saturday as they welcome the Minuteman Flames (2-0-0, 4 Pts).

2006 – Bantam Minor

  • Islanders H.C. vs Minuteman Flames (Sept. 21 – New England Sports Center)

The Islanders (2-0-0, 4 Pts) and Flames (1-1-0, 2 Pts) each surrendered a division-low one goal to open their respective seasons. Will defense prevail when they meet at the New England Sports Center on Sunday afternoon?

U18 (Half-Season)

  • Greater Boston Vipers vs Boston Jr. Huskies (W) (Sept. 21 – Canton Ice House)
  • Boston Jr. Huskies (W) vs Islanders H.C. (East G2) (Sept. 22 – Lawler Rink)

Among the handful of teams in the Half-Season Midget Division that are undefeated, only the Boston Jr. Huskies 15U and 18U (White) teams possess a 4-0-0 record. For the 18U (White) squad, they’ll seek to extend their winning streak to six games against the Vipers (1-0-0, 2 Pts) and IHC East (0-1-0, 0 Pts).

U15 (Half-Season)

  • Bay State Breakers (M) vs North Shore Shamrocks (Sept. 21 – Ristuccia Memorial Arena)
  • North Shore Shamrocks vs Top Gun (Sept. 22 – Salem ICEnter)

Another team starting the season undefeated, the Shamrocks (3-0-0, 6 Pts) have only surrendered a single goal to complement the 19 they’ve scored. They will look to create separation against the rest of the division via a weekend sweep of the Breakers (0-4-0, 0 Pts) and Top Gun (0-3-0, 0 Pts).

2005 – Bantam Major

  • Palmyra Black Knights vs CP Dynamo (Sept. 21 – Klick Lewis Arena)
  • Palmyra Black Knights vs CP Dynamo (Sept. 22 – Klick Lewis Arena)

CP Dynamo started off the season on the right foot in the 2005 and 2006 divisions, going 2-0-0 (4 Pts) in the South’s opening weekend. The ’05 squad looks to keep the early momentum going as they hit the road this weekend to take on Palmyra.
