It’s time for another weekend of hockey in the Eastern Hockey Federation.
Here are some things to watch for the weekend of December 20 – 22, 2019

2008 – Pee Wee Minor

  • Mid-Fairfield Jr. Rangers vs Top Gun (Dec. 22 – Salem Ice Center)

    • Game 1 – 11:30 a.m

    • Game 2 – 2:20 p.m.

Riding into Salem with a 12-game winning streak, the Jr. Rangers (23-1-2, 48 Pts) will look to close wrap up 2019 with a road sweep. Meanwhile, fourth-ranked Top Gun (13-5-3, 29 Pts) seeks to maintain their seven-point gap between the top four and the rest of the division.

U14 (Black Division)

  • Boston Jr. Huskies vs Providence H.C. (North) (Dec. 21 – R.I. Sports Center)

  • Providence H.C. (North) vs Boston Jr. Eagles (Dec. 22 – Keller Rink)

  • In a stunning result last Sunday, the Jr. Huskies (10-9-1, 21 Pts) upset PHC North (17-4-1, 35 Pts), 4-2, marking the second time this season Providence has lost back-to-back division games. The Huskies have the chance for another upset Saturday, but will require winning on the road.

Should the Jr. Huskies defeat Providence, and the Jr. Eagles (15-3-2, 32 Pts) defeat the Northern Cyclones the same day, the division’s top-two teams would only be separated by a single point; setting the stage for a Sunday showdown between PHC North and the Jr. Eagles.

U14 (White - Upper Division)

  • New England Bulldogs vs Boch Blazers (Dec. 21 – Boch Ice Center)

  • Tied for the league’s best defense with 32 GA, the seven-place Bulldogs (7-5-4, 18 Pts) look to continue climbing up the division ranks with a victory over a top-four team. In their first meeting on October 13, the Bulldogs bested the Blazers (13-4-2, 28 Pts) at home, 2-0.

2006 – Bantam Minor (Black Division)

  • Islanders H.C. (East) vs North Shore Shamrocks (G) (Dec. 21 – Gallant Arena)

  • After avenging their lone loss of the season, IHC East (18-1-1, 37 Pts) will welcome the Shamrocks (16-4-1, 33 Pts) to Merrimack College in a top-two battle. The Islanders will also seek to extend their winning streak to 13 games.

2006 – Bantam Minor (White Division)

  • Boston Jr. Terriers (R) vs Top Gun (Dec. 22 – Salem ICEnter)

  • Though they remain just outside the playoff bubble, Top Gun (9-7-2, 20 Pts) has provided plenty of frustration for the division’s top-half. Will they do it again this Sunday at home against the second-ranked Jr. Terriers (R) (12-4-4, 28 Pts), and inch themselves closer to a spot in the postseason?

2007 – Pee Wee Major (Silver Division)

  • Springfield Jr. Thunderbirds vs Boston Jr. Eagles (Dec. 21 – Walter Brown Arena)

  • Springfield (19-0-1, 39 Pts) suffered their first setback of the season last Sunday, finishing deadlocked with the Boch Blazers (10-4-4, 24 Pts) by a final score of 2-2. Now the Jr. Thunderbirds will look to get back on track, but will be challenged by the solid defense of the Jr. Eagles (12-5-1, 25 Pts) in a top-four divisional battle.

2008 – Pee Wee Minor (White Division

  • Boston Bandits vs Connecticut Jr. Rangers (Dec. 21 – Chelsea Piers)

  • Northern Cyclones vs Connecticut Jr. Rangers (Dec. 21 – Chelsea Piers)

  • Awaiting the Jr. Rangers (13-3-1, 27 Pts) this Saturday is a doubleheader of top-four teams at home. The division leaders will be challenged in different ways each game; the Bandits (10-7-4, 24 Pts) possess the second-best offense in the division (93 GF), while the Cyclones (12-2-2, 26 Pts) had surrendered a division-low 38 goals over their season.
